Campaign Story

The local Clinic was constructed around 1970. With a population of over 5000 people around the community, the clinic is facing serious challenges in terms of service delivery. Girls and Women are struggling with mensural health support, maternity care and the wider community are at a high risk of many other diseases and illnesses.

The clinic is critically underfunded. Medical staff are funded by the local government but there is no funding available for the clinic. The local community is a farming community in extreme poverty and as a result items have been stolen.

Action Change intends to fund an upgrade of the clinic that will include security and safety measures. The clinic needs furniture, more beds on the labour ward, a huge paint and clean up, toilets need fixing and new solar panels that were stolen need to be replaced with anti theft equipment installed. Action Change is also working to install burglar bars and alarms. Some of the challenges the clinic faces also include a shortage of drugs, equipment, beds and blankets.
