Campaign Story

CHITENDERANO children’s home is a small institution which was started by the SAMURIWO family and was registered under social welfare in 1992. The home was under Mr & Mrs SAMURIWO. Mrs SAMURIWO looked after children from childhood and upon realising her love for children, families dumped their children at her doorstep. On realising this she decided to start a formal children’s home. Mrs SAMURIWO has been taking care of the home with the help of other family members and the community. There have been some donors like Austrian Embassy who have been offering help to the home. CHITENDERANO children’s home has the capacity of caring for up to 40 children.

CHITENDERANO is a child centred organisation which strives for the betterment of disadvantaged children’s life. The homework hand in hand with the ministry of social welfare under the protection of children’s Act. The home operates in a rural environment but strives to provide an urban environment for the children under its care so much that they are in tandem with globalisation and societal changes that have become the order of the day.

Currently, the home is supporting 25 children 18 boys and 7 girls and is now running 4 projects –Poultry, Windmill, Piggery and Gardening.
