Campaign Story

The home was found in 1934 by Catholic Missionaries who wanted to help orphaned and vulnerable children around Makumbi. It started off as a hostel but as time went on it was developed into housing systems and 8 houses were then built, each house holding at least 10 children making them on average 80. However due to some economic challenges with time the number of houses was cut down to 4. The  number of children accommodated was also cut down. Thus from the initial 80, the home currently houses 30 children.

The home is there for the children to grow and develop themselves beyond their maximum potential and capacity, training them up in a way that should they into society they will carry with them the skills they would have learnt and acquired. The home also exists to safeguard and protect the children. All this is designed to be achieved through physical, spiritual, moral, academic and social education, supported by Christian values which are the guiding principle of all that is done in the home.
