Campaign Story

The Mother of Peace Community (MOPC) began in South Africa in 1989 as a direct response to the AIDS pandemic. MOPC Zimbabwe was established on a farm in Mutoko District of Mashonaland East Province in 1994. It occupies some 255 hectares of which 60 are arable. It lies 2 kms from the pilgrimage site of John Bradburn shrine.
In terms of work for children it has been set up for the following reasons.
• To provide temporary a family life shelter for orphans and other vulnerable children and prepare them with life skills for integration back into society.
• To increase the income generation projects towards self-sustainability.
• To encourage the ongoing “sponsor a child” programme.
• To care for Orphans and vulnerable children as well as giving aid to those in need based on Christian Cultural Values.
