Campaign Story

Plum Tree Reception is a Government Institution which was established in 1992 and is a place of safe for children from Maungwe, Bulilima District as well as outreach districts. These children are housed at the centre for different reasons which include, the abused, neglected, or intercepted along the way to neighboring countries such as Botswana and South Africa. While tracing of relatives is being done, processing of papers for place of safety is done while protecting the child at the center. While under the care of the Home, the children receive counselling and psychosocial support.

Objectives

• To receive and retain children in need of care.

• Providing safe shelter, food, clothing and other basic necessities for children in care.

• Provision of tracing services of relatives.

• Provide psychosocial support to children in care.

• Imparting various life skills to children.
