Campaign Story

DAPPZ was established in June 1980. It is a registered Zimbabwean non-governmental organization. Since its establishment, DAPP has continuously worked in the country, providing vital development assistance to the population under all circumstances. The Mission of DAPP Zimbabwe is to implement quality community led projects to empower the most vulnerable communities with knowledge, skills, and tools to improve their well-being in five sectors, namely Community Development, Agriculture, Education, Health and Emergencies’ Response and Preparedness. DAPP established Ponesai Vanhu Junior School to provide a holistic education, a home and safe environment for orphans and vulnerable children in rural Zimbabwe, so they can reach their full potential in terms of education, acquiring of life skills, nurturing of talents and the ability to fit the mainstream society. DAPP Zimbabwe runs Ponesai Vanhu Junior School which has a capacity of 60.

They aim to promote child welfare through:

•  Providing food, shelter, and education to orphaned and vulnerable children.

•  Equipping them with life skills through provision of the project’s five elements: education, vocational training, outreach, and boarding life.

•  Re-integrating children with their relatives.

• Ensuring that children receive parental care, love, and guidance.

• Providing psychosocial support to children.
